Cadmus Lab AI LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Decipher mobile application (the "App") available on Google Play. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Decipher.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and discontinue use.

2. About Decipher

Decipher is a calculator application that includes a language detection feature. When you enter text into the App, that text may be transmitted to an external language detection service to identify the language of the input. The App is not directed at children under 13.

3. Information We Collect

• Text Input: Text you type into the App for calculation or language detection purposes.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (e.g., Android ID).
• App Usage Data: Features used, session duration, and interaction patterns.
• Crash and Diagnostic Data: Diagnostic information collected if the App crashes or encounters errors.

3.3 Information Transmitted to Third-Party Services

• Language Detection via Google Translate: Text you submit for language detection is transmitted to an endpoint associated with Google Translate.
  • Important: This is an unofficial, unauthenticated endpoint — not an officially supported Google API. Your text is sent to Google's servers and subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • We do not control how Google processes data received through this endpoint.
  • We do not store language detection results on our servers.

4. How We Use Your Information

• Provide core App functionality — perform calculations and detect input language.
• Improve the App — analyze usage patterns and crash reports to fix bugs and enhance features.
• Ensure security — detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized use.
• Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests from authorities when required.

We do not sell your personal information or use your text input to build advertising profiles.

• Locally Stored Data: Stored on your device; removable via uninstall or Android Settings > Apps > Decipher > Clear Data.

• All data transmitted to external endpoints uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• We do not store sensitive text inputs on backend servers.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 All Users

• Opt Out of Language Detection: Use the calculator features without invoking language detection to prevent text from being transmitted externally.
• Clear Local Data: Android Settings > Apps > Decipher > Clear Data.

8.2 EEA and UK Residents — GDPR Rights

• Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection rights.
• Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8.3 California Residents — CCPA/CPRA Rights

• Right to know, delete, opt out of sale (we do not sell data), and non-discrimination.

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Decipher is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us immediately (Section 11) if you believe a child has provided personal information and we will delete it promptly.

10. Third-Party Services — Important Note on Unofficial Endpoint

Because we use an unofficial, unauthenticated Google Translate endpoint rather than the official Google Cloud Translation API, we have no Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Google covering this integration. Users in jurisdictions requiring DPAs (e.g., GDPR Article 28) should be aware of this gap.
